Entries to the 2024 BirdLife Australia Photography Awards are now open!

Welcome to the annual BirdLife Australia Photography Awards competition! This year, there are 9 categories including the Portfolio prize and a Youth category for entrants under the age of 18 years.

You have until August 5 to enter, but if you enter before July 5 you’ll be eligible for an early bird discount. To enter the competition, you’ll need to log in or create a BirdLife Australia account.

The categories are:

• Birds in Flight

• Bird Behaviour

• Backyard Birds

• Human Impact

• Birds in the Landscape

• Special theme: Land of the Parrots

• Youth

• Portfolio

Entry fees

We charge a modest entry fee, which supports our bird conservation work and helps fund the prize pool and offset running costs. The prices below are in AUD and include GST. Prices are per entry.

Entries close August 5 2024, and an Early Bird discount will apply until July 5.

* Please note: entrants eligible for the Youth category are also allowed to enter the Open categories and Portfolio category – and entry fees for these categories will be calculated separately using the above rates. Youth category entry fees do not apply to other categories.
